Picture
The Sahara Desert stretches over 9,400,000 square kilometres of North Africa, making it as large as all of Europe or the United States. It's latitute stretches from approximately 35 degrees North, to 15 degress North. It's longitude extends from approximately 35 degrees West to 15 degrees East.
<--- This is a satelite image of the Sahara from Google Earth. The land that appears to be a light brown color with the red flags on it is the Sahara. If you look above it you will see Europe, and you willl also notice how big one part of Northern Africa is compared to a whole bunch of countries in Europe. This image shows you how large the Sahara really is.

The map underneath is representing the deserts throughout the world. The parts shaded in in yellow is showing the desert lands. Apart from a few large deserts in Asia, you can see that the Sahara is much bigger than the other deserts.
