Vegetation and wildlife thrive in tropical rainforests, such as the Amazon.

Emergents: Tallest trees & can be over 50 metres tall.
Canopy:  Holds up to 50% of the rainforest's wildlife (birds, monkeys)
Under Canopy: Mainly bare tree trunks.
Shrub Layer: Shrubs and ferns which need less light to grow.

<--- This is an image of some of the vegetation in the Sahara. The soil is low in humus and saline, which is needed for good plant growth. For this reason, plant growth is sparse in the Sahara. Some plants have adapted to the dry soil and weather, which i will talk about on the next page.
